Repeat Prescriptions

Due to the volume of requests we receive for repeat prescriptions we do not deal with repeat prescription requests over the telephone. Prescriptions take 2 working days to be processed by the surgery. Please do not enquire with us before this time has lapsed.

If you collect your prescription from the pharmacy - it can take up to 10 days. If you want to know if your prescription is at your pharmacy, check with them first as we cannot check if your prescription is ready to collect. We always advise to check with the pharmacy first before calling.

To order your repeat prescription, you can do any of the following:

  • use the tear off slip provided from your last prescription. Tick the boxes of medication that you require and post it through the letter box at the front of the building (or post it to us)

  • If you do not have the tear off slip - you can write down which medication that you require on a piece of paper with your name and date of birth and post it through the letterbox at the front of the building (or post it to us)

  • If you have access to the internet you can sign up for Patient Services. This is a website where you can sign up to order your repeats and send the request directly to the practice without having to visit. To sign up for this service, please contact the practice or visit this section on our website - here

Please allow 48 hours for a prescription to be processed by the surgery and a further 7 days if a pharmacy is collecting your prescription on your behalf.

From time to time, you may be invited to attend the surgery for a review of your repeat medication. You will be informed about this when you pick up your repeat prescription. It may be listed on your repeat slip.

LOST PRESCRIPTIONS OR MEDICATION

Your prescriptions and medication are your responsibility.  Lost or stolen prescriptions or medication need to be discussed with the surgery staff as soon as you are aware of the loss.

Failure to report may affect the re-issue.  The loss/theft may also need to be reported to the police, depending on the medication in question.  For more information please speak to Reception.

It is your responsibility to store your medication and prescriptions safely.

If you have changed either your home or mobile telephone number please ensure you notify us using the ' Change of Details Form' on the website home page.
